One of England's previous leaders for an anti-smoking organization traveled to Cape Town where the World Conference on Tobacco or Health is being held.
Below, you'll see a video where he explains the role vaping has toward attaining a smoke-free world.
Many of us have heard these points again and again, but it's these platforms where real changes can be made. People who speak up at these world events are the ones who will influence an extremely large number of people to switch.
Even Ontario's very own anti-smoking expert David Sweanor, at the Center for Health Law, Policy & Ethics at the University of Ottawa is using his platform to take a different approach to anti-smoking advocacy.
Paraphrasing, he said that groups have been fighting against big tobacco - even with all they're actions toward removing cigarettes from their product-line. But what they should be doing is using the resources that big tobacco is offering and putting it toward anti-smoking goals.
Big tobacco has the eyes of the public focused on them now, and if they want to stay in business, they will need to upgrade their products to something far less harmful. That can't happen without the vaping industry.
