Just a quick blog post to bring something cool to your attention!
There's a recent e-cigarette study that can be found at Discovery Medicine's website.
A two-year study conducted by Professor Riccardo Polosa, with 18 asthmatic smokers. Polosa's team took the participants through a transition of smoking to vaping over the two-year period.
The participants had their lung function tested every 6-months.
The test measured:
- Methacholine PC20, AHR and ACQ levels
- Airway hyper-responsiveness
- Asthma control
- Asthma exacerbations
- Measurable tobacco consumption levels
- Overall lung function
The results from these tests were compared to the same tests carried out on the control group which consisted of non-smoking asthmatic patients.
Although some participants did not transition perfectly to vaping, Polosa's team noticed a gradual increase in respiratory function - and even though the few admitted still using both cigarettes and vaping, there was still a significant positive difference.
If you have the time and patience to read the study, you'll be a happy vaper as you reach the conclusion Polosa comes to; that vaping is significantly less damaging to your lungs than smoking!
Check it out and share with your vaping friends.
To your health & happiness!
